Sexual identity is a complex idea. For Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender individuals and their loved ones it can become political. The sexual identities that I want to depict represent the complex sexual personalities that I believe everyone has. People have different sides of their personalities, and I believe that they possess the same complexity regarding their sexual encounters and attitudes depending on whom they are sharing that moment with. If everyone had only one defined facet of their sexual personality, sex and intimacy, would be terribly boring. It is these sexual personalities of women that I define as the “Female gaze” by trying to capture and reclaim the American “Pin Up".
